Wind just doesn’t stop. And it’s been much colder than this over the years but this last week it’s been relentless. Sadly we can only sail on perfect days this time of year and tomorrow isn’t one of those days. Friday is canceled due to wind. We are running the last two days of the 24 season, this Saturday and Sunday, January 11-12. I wish I could give options for those reserved tomorrow but can’t fight Mother Nature. There are other operations running through February, albeit dealing with the same weather issues. Several small boats operating off RI, in addition to big outfits like Frances Fleet in RI, American Classic in Salem MA and Viking Fleet in Montauk LI. Not sure what they’re fishing for or how they’re doing, but they have websites. We started mailing preseason charter contracts this week, small batch every week. I’ll confirm when all are sent out. I’ll report on fishing Sunday afternoon, both days are sold out. Capt Les
UPDATE 1/11/25 Saturday
Best weather day of the week and the weather still sucked, but fishing once again good. Sad we have to hang it up, I’ll figure a way to make sure we run right through every winter from now on. Tomorrow last day until March 21. We are sold out. Pictures from Leo and Sue today. I also received some smoked fish from Sue, delicious, best I ever had over the years. Don’t tell Fishark. Speaking of Fishark, his specialty trips through us are the best on the coast. I/3 the passengers, generally all pros and 99% successful. Which is tough when talking fishing.
